Project Engineer – Design and Process
Design and process engineer will manage projects from concept stage to completion. This includes designing projects to a highly technical standard. Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates assigned project engineering works.
Essential Job Functions:
>> Monitors project engineering works for compliance to applicable codes, accepted quality and safety practices, approved project cost, and the technical requirements of the capital proposal.
>> Ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project participants.
>> Take charge of start to end engineering activities (Process Flow Design, P&ID’s, Machine Design, Engineering Drawings and Layouts) either through own expertise or coursing through Project colleagues.
>> Liaise with the project teams on equipment design, suppliers and cost. Apply best practices on technologies as needed on assigned project. Technologies include but not limited to processing, filling and packing line equipment.
>> Assist the Project Manager and project proponents in providing technical inputs in capital proposal raising for new projects; from the start to end conceptualization to preliminary engineering.
>> Assist the Project Manager in managing capital investments, from CAPEX planning to detailed implementation engineering, monitoring and closure.
>> Responsible for the safety of Food and Agriculture project – related operations within the project site or factory, as well as maintaining and setting of safe working procedures; including management of Environment, Health and Safety aspects of project management from design, equipment selection, project implementation (site safety), commissioning and final project handover.
Secondary Job Functions:
>> Supports projects with technical drawings if necessary.
>> Prepares project manuals and design presentation.
>> Attends site and design meetings.
>> Provide Bill of Materials for costing purposes.
>> Provide leadership in process trials and process tracks with minimal supervision.
>> Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national and international standards and legislation.
Technical and Functional Competencies:
>> Familiarity with Management Principles and Project Management.
>> Knowledge in AutoCAD, MS Project and other 3-D Imaging software.
>> Experience in Process Development and Process Commercialization.
>> Direct knowledge of manufacturing methodologies.
Key Requirements:
>> Must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
>> Two to three (2 to 3) years of food manufacturing industry experience with a background in project management.
>> Must be a licensed Chemical Engineer.
>> Willing to travel within and outside the Philippines.
